A Box of Kleenex

So last night we watched this movie and I wish I would have known just how sad it would be:
Dear Zachary: A Letter to A Son About His Father.

The movie is a documentary about a man who is murdered (Andrew). His close friend, the film-maker, wanted to interview everyone who was touched by the man's life. As it turned out, as the movie was being filmed in the weeks and months after his death, the woman who killed Andrew (Shirley) fled to Canada, discovered she was pregnant with Andrew's child and never serves a sentence for his murder. In fact, Justice is never served. Andrew's parents seek custody of Andrew and Shirley's child- Zachary. Shirley manipulates the legal system; Andrew's parents, in order to spend as much time with Zachary as possible, have to jump through Shirley's hoops to spend time with the baby. Shirley ends up killing baby Zachary at 13 mos, then takes her own life.

I'm still so sad about this, but it sure does make me hold Charlie that much tighter. I would recommend the movie, but with caution for any parent. It was amazing to see how Andrew touched so many lives, and to see his parents stay so strong through all the tragedies they had to endure.

Yikes dude. I don't think I could watch that. Sounds really good but I might fall into a depression. :(
