Wainy Rednesday

This week I'm on a mission to get organized. This is all because next week I want to paint my living room! I'm still deciding on a color, and since I have all kinds of whites, blues and such, I was going to go with a blue, but then I saw this today and now I'm all mixed up inside. Gray? Blue?

Anyway, I've been going thru magazines, recipes, patterns, pictures, postcards, stamps (yes, I have a collection- a mix of my father's, uncle's, brother-in-law and grandmother-in-law that has been collecting dusts for a loooooooooong time-), books and clothes..... Found this old photo of my bro Michael and me... aren't we just so cute?

I like to stay busy. As much as I think I enjoy sitting on my bum watching Martha and eating Haribo Gummis, I really find myself happier to get a lot done. That's what I'm trying to do this week, but it hasn't been the success I was planning. Monday evening, we drove to Roanoke so that I could run some errands, including returning some clothes, so we made plans to meet the sisters-in law for dinner. Right before we got to Roanoke, on the drive, I realized that I forgot the clothes. It was fun to hang out, but I still have to drive to Roanoke this week! (1 hour)

Well, anyhow, there was supposed to be a soccer game today, but it has been postponed until Thursday, so that opened up time for me to clean house. Look what I found!

These collages are from when I was in college. I had one printmaking class with Joe Sheridan, and every day we had homework. We were to turn in a mini- an index card with a drawing, painting, collage, whatever. I love to find them... and if you can imagine, they're tucked in the most random places. Old textbooks. Diaries. Sketchbooks. Portfolios. Tackle box (paint).

I had a collection of Time Life magazines from the 40's and 50's back then. Loved 'em. They, to me, remind me of certain people, and each one has a little story...

This last one was actually the front of the postcard I sent out for my senior show.

Well, I'm hoping everyone has a great week! Hasn't the chilly weather been nice?

AAAAwwwwww!! i love the picture of you and michael. So darling.
I like the grey walls, but you have to be careful not to get a shade that is too jail-ish. I had grey walls once and I ended up repainting them belgian waffle yellow. it was a huge improvement to my mood. I want to paint!! I have to get my own house!
