Crazy for Pumpkins

We are so stoked for Halloween. I think we're sick of candy corn since we've eaten it since August now! We are stocked up on goody bags for the kids at school and plenty of candy for the trick or treaters. Now, just kinda counting down until Wednesday!

I put up a few decorations around the house and out front... Here's some photos from the front...





We found 2 of these big beauties! They barely fit in the Mini!

All's Quiet Here...

I realize I haven't posted in over a month! I have to admit I've been visiting many other blogs, but haven't found much to say myself. We enjoyed about a week or 2 of spring-ish weather, but then had to rehibernate about 2 weeks ago when wintery weather returned.





We did enjoy a week off work, deciding to stay home rather than travel. We did some projects here and there, including painting the living room and back porch, (planted 3 dwarf fruit trees in planters, and I envision hanging some vintage-looking, colorful tin cans with some plants-- it's hard to do something fun with a big concrete wall!)


and enjoyed a day of warm weather on the river...


we went kayaking!



It was just lovely.

We even visited Busch Gardens, even though it was snowing and freezing! I wouldn't recommend it, even though the lines were shorter.





And to wrap up our vacation, we had my family over for Easter.





I spent the entire day in the kitchen, and forgot to take pictures beyond this torte, which looks like it's about to fall over, but it was realllllly delicious.



The warm weather is supposed to return next weekend. We can't wait to go outside and play!

Snowed In This Month

I've skipped on blogging for a while, to sort of hiberate (yeah, I know the computer's in the house, too) and enjoy winter since it finally arrived. We've been completely spoiled by the number of snow days we've had... now at the sight of fog or ice on the trees, we're sure that they'll reward us with at least an hour delay or two. After all, they gave us 2 snow days without the sight of a drop of the white stuff! What's funny is that now, after a few weeks of hoping for a snow day, all the teachers talk about wanting Spring to arrive! (Probably because if we have another snow day, we'll have to use one of our Spring Break days!!!!)
